COMMON QUESTIONS

WHAT FITS INSIDE?

CANISTER 135 holds one standard 35mm / 135 still photography cartridge, fresh or exposed. It does not hold 120 film, multiple rolls, loose negative strips, or sleeved negatives. An empty standard cartridge can also be kept as a memento; developed negatives need separate storage.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

CANISTER 135 includes the stainless steel body, threaded cap, and one fitted silicone gasket. Film and camera are not included.

HOW DO SHIPPING AND RETURNS WORK?

Every U.S. order ships free. Orders dispatch from Washington within 3–5 business days, with tracking by email. For international orders, contact hello@archive135.com before ordering.

Request ordinary returns within 30 days of delivery; the canister must be unused and in its original condition and packaging. Customers pay ordinary return shipping. Archive 135 covers return shipping for damaged, defective, or incorrect items. Contact us before sending anything back.

WHAT MAKES CANISTER 135 DIFFERENT?

CANISTER 135 has a body machined from one piece of 304 stainless steel, a separate machined cap with a knurled grip, and a fitted silicone gasket. At 122g, it is deliberately substantial. You are choosing the material, machining, finish, and feel of a reusable object for one cartridge.

IS CANISTER 135 WATERPROOF?

No. CANISTER 135 has a gasketed closure that helps resist dust and incidental moisture during normal use. It is not waterproof, airtight, or suitable for submersion.

CAN I TRAVEL WITH IT?

CANISTER 135 can carry one cartridge in a bag, but it adds 122g and does not protect film from airport X-ray or CT scanners, heat, or humidity. It is not a multi-roll travel case.

IS IT FOR LONG-TERM NEGATIVE STORAGE?

CANISTER 135 holds a standard film cartridge, not loose or sleeved developed negatives. It is not climate-controlled or conservation-rated. Use storage designed for developed negatives after processing.

WHO IS IT FOR?

CANISTER 135 is for 35mm photographers, camera collectors, and gift buyers who value the finish and feel of machined metal. If low weight or carrying several rolls is your priority, a lightweight multi-roll case is a better fit.
