01 / A LITTLE MORE INTENTION

You chose the camera.
The lens. The film.
Consider the little things, too.

There’s a pleasure in objects that feel right. The weight as you pick them up. The texture beneath your fingers. The small turn that closes them. CANISTER 135 brings that same attention to one roll of film.

02 / GET TO KNOW THE OBJECT

A few turns.
A familiar ritual.

A threaded cap. A place for one cartridge. A solid steel body you’ll reach for again.

06 / WHY ARCHIVE 135

Some things
are worth keeping.

Archive 135 takes its name from the 35mm film format. Our first object gives one cartridge a reusable home in machined steel.

It’s a small part of the analogue process. We think small things deserve care, too.

A FEW PRACTICAL DETAILS

Good to know.

Still wondering about something?
Ask us a question ↗

What fits inside?

One standard 35mm / 135 still-photography cartridge, fresh or exposed. It does not hold 120 film, multiple rolls, or loose or sleeved developed negatives.

Why choose a steel canister?

For its material, machining, weight, and feel. CANISTER 135 is a deliberately substantial object for someone who enjoys using well-made things. If minimum weight or carrying several rolls is your priority, a lightweight multi-roll case will suit you better.

Is it waterproof or safe for airport scanners?

No. The fitted gasket helps resist dust and incidental moisture during normal use. The canister is not waterproof, airtight, climate-controlled, or suitable for submersion. It does not protect film from airport X-ray or CT scanners.

What comes with it?

The stainless steel canister body, threaded cap, and fitted silicone gasket. Film and camera are not included. Check that your recipient uses standard 35mm film if you are buying a gift.

How do shipping and returns work?

U.S. shipping is free. Orders ship in 2 to 5 business days from Gig Harbor, Washington; carrier delivery usually takes 2 to 5 business days after that. For Christmas 2026 delivery in the contiguous U.S., order by Thursday, December 10. Contact hello@archive135.com before ordering outside the U.S.

Request returns within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused and in original condition and packaging. Customers pay ordinary return shipping; Archive 135 covers return shipping for damaged, defective, or incorrect items. Contact us before sending a return.

How do I care for it?

Wipe with a soft cloth, avoid harsh abrasives, and keep the threads and silicone gasket clean. Polished steel can show fingerprints and fine marks from handling. Keep it in its own compartment, away from delicate camera surfaces.
